SetSafe®

Idle Fume Hood Management

Optimize Energy Savings with Idle Fume Management

SetSafe® monitors multiple parameters on fume hoods and when criteria indicate the hood is idle, it signals to lower the flows to the fume minimum or hibernate the hood in less toxic labs. The results are dramatic savings in heating and cooling as well as electric savings on the supply and exhausts, particularly at SmartStack® installations

Continuously monitors electrical activity, sash position and history (with optional reach detection)

When criteria indicate the hoods are idle, it signals the valve controller to lower flows or hibernate the hoods in less toxic labs.  Hood immediately signaled for full flow if any criteria not met.

The reduced flow drive dramatic savings in heating and cooling, as electric savings on the supply and exhaust fan

How it works:

Possible Active Conditions

Sash Open

Hood Electrical Activity

Motion Behind Sash

Alarm Condition

Thermal Override

Hood Idle Conditions

Sash Closed

No Hood Electrical Activity

No Motion Behind Sash

No Alarm Condition

Manual ECO-Mode

Manually place one or more hoods in the lab into ECO-Mode. Only affects currently idle hoods.

ECO-Mode

ECO-Mode reduces energy consumption by automatically adjusting airflow when the hood is not in active use. It lowers operational costs and supports sustainability goals without compromising safety. This smart feature extends equipment life while promoting a greener, more efficient laboratory.
